Executing Scripts

You can run scripts in several different ways.  The most often used option is either to run the script from the Tools menu with the 'Run Script' option or to use the 'Run Script' button on the toolbar.  Either one of these will invoke a file selection dialog allowing you to specify the script file to use.

Other ways to run a script are:

  • In the Custom Toolbar settings area of Options/Sessions menu, a script can be added to a custom command to be associated with one of the custom toolbar buttons or with a custom command on the custom toolbar drop down menu. For further information, refer to Customizing the Toolbar

  • You can associate a script file with a host session so that the script is executed every time you connect to the session.  To assign a script to a session, add the location and name of the script file to the Session/Miscellaneous/Script File field.  For more information on this dialog, please see Miscellaneous Options.

  • In the startup command line of the QWS3270p.exe shortcut icon, you can include a script in the program startup with both the –s and the –w keyword identifiers.  For further information, refer to Create Command Line Parameters
