Transferring Single Files

To be able to transfer a file, you first need to be on a screen with a command line.  To download a single file from a host, there are two ways to invoke the Download File dialog.  You can click on the Tools menu and select Download File or simply click on the following toolbar button if visible on your tool bar.   You will now see the following dialog.  Here you would enter the name of the file on the host you wish to download, then either enter or browse for the file name and path on your PC or network.

You would then set "File Conversion", if any, your "Host Type", and what action to take if the file already exists on your system.  Contact the server administrator for the host if you are not sure what settings to use.

To Upload a single file to a host, is more or less the same method.  Be sure you are at a screen with a command prompt.  Then either click on the Tools menu, select Upload file, or the following toolbar button if present on your toolbar.

The following dialog will now appear.

Enter the name you wish to have your file saved as on the host, then either enter or browse for the file you wish to transfer from your PC or network.  You would now set the remaining parameters for the transfer.  If you are not sure how they should be set, contact the server administrator for the host you are connected to.
