Why Use a Session

A named session provides a way to re-use the same parameters and settings, and to change these values only when it becomes necessary. The same standard connection environment can be executed along with connecting to a host with a click of the mouse or pressing the Enter key.

Sessions allow customization of the connection environment. There are a great number of session settings that can be applied to functionality and display attributes of a host session connection. The Connect options and automatic connect options rely on the definition of a session.
