Convert Keystrokes to a Script

Convert Keystrokes to a Script

You can convert a previously recorded keystroke file into a script file automatically.  This allows you to edit the file with any text editor or with the JGS Script Editor.  The keystroke recording files are not editable.

To convert a keystroke file to a script, choose the 'Convert Keystroke to Script' option on the Tools menu.

When the Convert Keystroke to Script option is chosen, the following dialog appears in order to select the Keystroke File to convert.

The next dialog prompts you for the name of a script file to hold the converted keystroke file.  You can choose to select an existing file or type a name for a new script file.

In the dialog above, we typed a new name for the file to be saved instead of selecting an existing one.

If you check the 'Open file with JGS Script Editor' check box, the program will attempt to start the script editor with the converted script file.  You can check the file for accuracy or edit it as necessary.
