Enable Host Graphics
This defines whether the session will support host graphics or not.
If you want to use graphics, check this item and then specify the type of graphics support and other options.
Graphics Type
QWS3270 Secure supports the following type of host graphics:
You can configure the session to support:
Â
Choose the protocol to be used for vector graphics.
Choose Advanced when your applications run under GDDM version 2 release 3 or later because you can take advantage of the improved protocol that these later releases of GDDM support.
Note, however, that the Advanced protocol is not supported by the CICS pseudo-conversational mode with versions of GDDM earlier than Version 3, and not by IMS/VS at all. It is, however, supported by the CICS pseudo-conversational mode with GDDM version 3 release 1 or later.
Choose Native as the protocol when you intend to use the older versions of GDDM or other, non-GDDM, host-graphics applications, such as those originally intended to use 3270 non-programmable terminals like the 3179G, 3192G or 3472G.
Disable host 'Set Graphic Cursor Position' instruction
Check this box to prevent the host from setting the graphics cursor position programmatically. If you want to allow the host to specify where on the screen the graphics cursor appears, leave this box unchecked.
Use Alpha Blend for Graphics Display
The program supports two different ways to display the host graphics: Alpha Blend, and Transparent Blit. Check this option to use the Alpha Blend method, which should work in most cases. If for some reason your host graphics are not being displayed, uncheck the option to use the older Transparent Blit method to display the graphics. You may have to do that if you run the program on a virtual machine, or over a remote desktop connection that does not support Alpha Blend.
By default, this option is checked and Alpha Blend is used.
