Trace Process and Results

The trace functionality that is built into the QWS3270 Secure application is used primarily to resolve network problems by Jolly Giant Software support. You may be asked to generate a trace if support cannot resolve a problem with the application problem description.

A trace file contains information on the data passed back and forth between QWS3270 Secure and the host application. This can be valuable in resolving problems. The contents of the trace file will probably not mean much to the average user but it can be used by Jolly Giant Software support to help resolve problems.

This section describes the way to create a trace file. Please note that generating a trace file can result in a very large file.
