Hotspot Dialog
Â
A hotspot is clickable screen text that is linked to a user-defined action. Â The default way to execute a hotspot is by double-clicking with the left mouse button on a hotspot. This can be changed in the Mouse Options dialog.
QWS3270 Secure comes with a number of default hotspots such as PFxx, Fxx, Enter and Clear. Â These hotspots execute the actions for which they are named. For example, executing a PF2 hotspot would send the PF2 key to the host. Â You can change the actions that the default hotspots execute as well as create your own custom hotspots.
Each session is associated with its own list of hotspots allowing you to have different hotspots defined for each session. Â This is useful if you connect to different hosts where you may want the same hotspot to execute different actions or to have different hotspots. Â The default hotspots are:
F1-F24
PF1-PF24
PA1-PA3
Clear
Enter
URLs (text starting with http://, ftp://, mailto:, etc.)
Hotspots can be used to:
send keys to the host
run script files
replay keystroke files
run external programs
launch your default browser, FTP program, or mail program
There are some restrictions placed on hotspots:
they must be in a protected field. The program will not recognize typed text as a hotspot.
they must be delimited by spaces or the end of a screen line. Hotspot text embedded in a longer string will not be seen as a hotspot.
To modify the hotspot settings, use the Options/Session menu and click on the Hotspot item in the options dialog.
