Startup Options

The start-up options determine what occurs when QWS3270 Secure is started.  You can have the program start normally in which case you must manually select the QWS3270/Connect option to display the connect dialog.  You can also display this dialog automatically whenever the program starts up or you can have it bypass the connection dialog and automatically connect to a host.

Whenever the Auto Connect option is selected, the program will attempt to connect to the default host.  The default host is the one specified in the default session.  All other session are based on this default session.  To change the default host, or edit any other of the default options, start the program and choose Options/Session menu item before you connect to a host.  The session options dialog will display "Default Session" in the title.  Choose the default options you desire including the host to use for the Auto-Connect option.

You should not select the Auto-Connect option in conjunction with the Exit-On-Close option for the default session.  If a problem occurs during the connection process the program will display some information on the problem on it's main screen.  If the Exit-On-Close option is specified you will not see this information as the application will close automatically.  In addition, because the application always exits right after the connection problem occurs, you will have no way of correcting it.
