Screen Size
Â
To change the size of the QWS3270 Secure window, you can either change the font (this will change the window size) or you can drag the window border to change the size (this will change the font size). To be able to size the window border you must have the ‘Window Border’ option turned on in the Application Settings dialog.
To access the Display settings dialog, select Options/Session menu item and click on the Display Options icon, and the following dialog appears.

Â
Click on Select Font, and the font selection dialog appears.

The font selections come from the fixed pitch fonts installed on your computer. To see how the font appears, click on it and view the Sample field. For example, the Sample field in the dialog screen above contains Courier New font, Regular Font style, and a Size of 10 points. The font size makes the biggest difference in terms of window size because the window has to increase or decrease the letter space allotted to each space across the entire window where text could appear. To change the font information:
Select the Font, Font Style and Size that you want to see during the current session based upon the Sample.
Click on OK to accept the changes and return to the display dialog or on Cancel to leave the font dialog without changes.
On the display dialog, the changes you defined on the font window appear in the sample font window.
To distinguish the input fields on the host, you can define two styles: a solid underline or dotted underline. To implement either of these, click on the checkbox next to "Underline Input Fields" to choose. Then click on the radio buttons in front of "Solid Line" or "Dotted Line" to select the underline style. Only one can be selected at a time.
To keep the same window size when the host display changes, click the checkbox in front of "Save window size when host screen size changes". This may maintain the window size but the font size will be adjusted based on the number of rows and columns od data being displayed.
On the Display Options dialog, click on Apply to save the font and other changes in the QWS3270 Secure window without leaving the dialog or click on OK to save changes and return to the main QWS3270 Secure window with the new settings. Click on Cancel to return to the main QWS3270 Secure window without any display changes.
Window Sizing Considerations
Screen sizing allows you to dynamically change the size of the window. When you drag the window border to change the window size, the application will attempt to find the best font that matches the window size selected. You can also achieve this effect by increasing the font size in the Display dialog font window.
Clicking the 'Maximize' button on the window will cause the application to choose the largest font that will fit on the screen.
This option works only when a True Type font is selected for the session. The "Window Border" option in the Options / Application dialog box must also be enabled. The application supports any fixed-pitch font available to Windows. Courier New is a True Type fixed pitch font that is shipped with most versions of Windows and is the default font.
